Solo Ski Weeks in Meribel

September 3, 2018

Thinking of skiing independently this winter? You're not the only one. Alpine Ethos has teamed up with The Ski Gathering to offer ski holidays in Meribel for solo travellers. The idea is simple….share the chalet, share the mountain, share good food and wine, share great memories!

We launched our first solo ski week last season, and it was such a success that this year we have 4 weeks on offer, including a specialist off piste week.

5 January  - 12 January 2019

2 February - 9 February 2019

23 March -30 March 2019

30 March - 6 April 2019

The Ski Gathering are the solo skiing experts, with years of experience offering single ski holidays for skiers and boarders of all abilities. The adult only ski holidays give you total flexibility: company when you want it, freedom when you don't. Best of all, there is no single supplement.

Our holidays are sociable ski experiences designed for individual skiers / snowboarders (small, sociable groups of two or three are also welcome).

Who comes on a solo ski holiday…….lots of people!

  • You love to travel alone to meet new friends?

  • You love skiing but your friends can’t get the time off?

  • You love skiing but you can’t convince your partner to come along?

  • You want to tag and extra weeks skiing onto your week with family or friends?

  • You want to bag yourself a cheeky second weeks skiing during the season?

  • You are a sociable couple or small group who want to talk to more people than just each other at the dinner table?

If any of the above sound like you, then come along and join us!

Share the chalet

Our chalets are all available on a shared basis, so it doesn't matter how small your group is - most of our guests individuals travelling alone. For an individual or solo skier, this means you avoid the single supplement by sharing your room with other skiers and snowboarders just like yourself. Our holidays are adult only.

Meet like-minded Skiers

Our holidays offer company when you want it, freedom when you don't. Staying in our chalets, you have the option of mixing and socialising with other grown-up skiers and boarders during the evenings in the chalet and in the daytimes on the slopes. This goes whether you're travelling alone, as a two, or in a small group.

Ideal for Mixed Abilities

The Ski Gathering is also perfect for pairs of skiers who have different levels of experience, or simply different interests on the mountains. Some days, you can each join in with separate groups to suit your own level and then meet back up afterwards to share your stories from your day on the slopes.

Room options to suit all preferences and budgets

We offer three different room options. Choose from:

Private single room (with double bed) £750

Shared twin room - £525

Shared Triple room - £375

There is a clear focus on teaching you to deal with a wide variety of snow conditions confidently. This is all done under the watchful eye of fully qualified experienced instructors. This course zeros in on the tactics and techniques required to successfully navigate powder, steeps, bumps and also a bit of freestyle.

Most days will comprise of 3 hours of skiing in the morning with the instructors. This will also include video feedback. On the last day the instructors will lead the group on a full day of off piste adventure. There will be a day off on Wednesday. The afternoons are free to do as you please.
