Introducing the Alpine Ethos 2018/19 Team

November 15, 2018

The Alpine Ethos team arrive in just under 3 weeks, so it is a good time to introduce them to you. They are a really wonderful group, with lots of experience and great enthusiasm. They can’t wait to arrive in Meribel and welcome all of our lovely guests.

Dan & Marie – Chalet St Joseph

Dan was a guest in Chalet St Joseph last winter, and loved it so much he decided to come back for the whole season, along with girlfriend Marie.

Dan's love of cooking began as a child, helping his mother in her catering business. Since then his passion for cooking has grown, and he is really excited to share dishes with hungry skiers. Having been London based for the last few years working in IT and Investment management, Dan is eager to enjoy the fresh air of the mountains. Hopefully he leaves his yeti friend at home!

Our lovely French member of the team, Marie is really excited to be joining Dan for a winter season back on home turf. After studying English for a number of years, Marie trained as a teacher and has spent the last few years teaching French and Spanish in the UK. With a love of cooking and looking after people, Marie really looks forward to welcoming you all to Chalet St Joseph. Secret talent...playing the Ukulele!

Ellie & Luke – Chalet La Petite Chapelle

Ellie and Luke have both worked winter seasons before and are delighted to be coming back to the mountains for another winter having recently graduated from Reading University.

They have extensive hospitality experience and some great culinary training. Ellie and Luke have both completed a Culinary Arts Diploma at an award-winning cookery school, under the instruction of a Michelin Star chef. They both passed the course with flying colours, and Ellie was awarded a distinction and came top of the class!

Ellie has cooked for private dinner parties, as well as working front of house in an AA Rosette restaurant. Ellie is a passionate, imaginative chef, and she can't wait to share her dishes with the guests in La Petite Chapelle.

With a wealth of hospitality experience, from bar tending to events catering, Luke has all the experience to make guests holidays really special. Currently a bartender at the Winchester restaurant of The Ivy, Luke has really perfected his cocktail making skills!

Ellie is a keen food photographer, and some of the delicious dishes that Ellie and Luke will be creating can be seen on the La Petite Chapelle page!

John-Paul – Chalet Les Cabris

John-Paul joins us with a love of hospitality and people. After working front of house in a busy Notting Hill restaurant for several years, John-Paul is looking forward to the fresh air of the mountains!

John-Paul has worked in several countries, and travelled extensively and always enjoyed cookery courses as part of his travels. Having taken cookery courses in Italy, France, India and Thailand he has a repertoire of delicious recipes to share with chalet guests.

This will be John-Paul’s first experience of skiing, and he is super keen to learn to ski and share stories of the fun on the mountain!

Silas – Driver and Handyman

Returning to Meribel for his second winter, Silas knows the resort like the back of his hand.

With a background in running his own window cleaning business for a number of years, working for the Pembrokeshire National Park, as well as previous seasonal work,  Silas has a wealth of experience.

Silas comes to us after a summer of travelling around America as well as working in the Alps in a maintenance role. With his friendly nature and happy smile, he is really looking forward to shuttling you around Meribel this winter.
